Describe the symptom, not just the part you think it needs
A squeal does not tell us everything about a brake fault. Explain whether it happens at every stop, only when the car is first used, or after a longer drive. If you feel shuddering, say whether it comes through the pedal, steering wheel or the whole car. Mention pulling to one side, any warning lights and recent work. These details help us plan the inspection, but they do not replace checking the vehicle.
A soft pedal or noticeably reduced braking is not something to test by going around the block. Keep the car parked safely and phone for advice about attendance and access. If it has stopped in a dangerous roadside position, getting people out of immediate danger comes first; do not assume mechanical work can be carried out in a traffic lane.
Brake pads and rotors: inspect before replacing
We check pad wear and rotor condition rather than treating every noise as a request for new pads. Pads must be suitable for the vehicle, and the discs they work against need assessment too. Rotor thickness, scoring and condition determine whether machining is suitable or replacement is required. We explain the findings and quote the appropriate work instead of automatically adding rotors to every pad replacement.
Tell us your make, model, year and registration when requesting a quote. Front and rear brake setups differ, and some vehicles have an electronic parking brake that affects the procedure. Mention towing or the way you use the car so we can discuss suitable pads. A quote for another car, or for pads alone, is not a reliable price for your complete repair.
Calipers, fluid and the handbrake matter too
New pads are only one part of the job. Calipers and slide pins need attention so the components can operate correctly, and we look for issues that explain uneven wear. Our brake services include caliper work, seals and slide pins where required. If inspection finds another fault, you hear what it is and what the repair involves before additional work is authorised.
We also carry out brake fluid flushing and bleeding and handbrake adjustment. A pedal complaint needs diagnosis, not simply a fluid top-up and an assumption that it is fixed. An ABS warning may need a scan of the brake control module as well as physical checks. A safe place to work at home or your workplace
Mobile brake repairs suit many home and work appointments across the Gold Coast and Tweed Heads. Give us the actual parking location, not only the building address. We need suitable space to access the wheels, set up equipment and park the van. For an apartment basement, tell us the height clearance, entrance and whether the building permits mechanical work. A busy public car park is not automatically a suitable work area.
If access is unsuitable or the repair needs workshop facilities, we explain the options. Mobile service removes the workshop drop-off for jobs we can safely do on site; it does not mean every brake fault can be repaired anywhere. We will also discuss parts availability and timing rather than promising a completion time before seeing the vehicle.

The callout is $150 and covers the first hour on site. Parts and the scope of further work depend on what the inspection finds, and nothing extra happens without your approval.
