A clicking noise does not automatically mean a new starter motor, and an engine light does not identify a failed component by itself. Tell us whether the engine cranks, whether the dashboard lights come on and whether the fault happens every time. Those details help us start with the relevant checks rather than guessing from one symptom.

For a warning light, we use diagnostic equipment alongside checks of the vehicle. Fault codes are a starting point, not a shopping list of parts. Describe any loss of power, rough running, overheating or unusual noise as well as the light. If driving feels unsafe, leave the car parked and call. We can discuss the next step without asking you to keep driving a vehicle that may have a serious fault.

Mobile car maintenance that fits your day

A mobile auto service can be booked at home or work instead of spending the morning in a waiting room. Have the service book available and tell us the kilometres and when the last service was done. That helps distinguish scheduled maintenance from a separate repair that needs attention. Mention any noises, leaks or warning lights when arranging the visit, even if the main reason for booking is an oil and filter change.

Log book service is $375. We also provide preventative maintenance and general servicing; discuss the vehicle and the work required before booking. Maintenance is not a substitute for investigating a current fault. If the brakes are grinding or the temperature gauge is rising, say so at the outset so the problem can be assessed rather than treated as an ordinary service item.

What still needs a workshop

Mobile does not mean every repair belongs in a driveway. Engine rebuilds, gearbox rebuilds, tyre fitting and work requiring a hoist or press need workshop facilities. Access can also make a difference: an unsuitable roadside position or a cramped basement bay may prevent safe work even when the repair itself is normally mobile. We will explain the limitation rather than starting something that cannot be completed there.

Our base is at 11 Ern Harley Drive, Burleigh Heads. If diagnosis identifies work that needs a workshop or specialist, we explain the finding and discuss what happens next. Being able to identify the fault on site can still be useful, but it is not a promise that every vehicle will be repaired during the callout.

Callout cost and booking a nearby mechanic

$150 covers the callout and your first hour on site. We discuss further work before proceeding, so ask about the likely scope when you call. If we genuinely cannot help at all, you do not pay. If we diagnose and identify the fault, the $150 callout applies even if a specialist or workshop must repair it. That distinction matters when comparing a call out mechanic with a workshop booking.
