How often should you change the oil?
Most modern cars run a 10,000km or 12-month interval, whichever comes first. If you do short beach-suburb trips, tow, or sit in Gold Coast Highway traffic, treat that as severe service and shorten it to around 7,500km.
Time matters as much as distance. Oil that has sat in a car for two years has absorbed moisture and lost its additive package even if the odometer barely moved.
Right oil, not just any oil
Modern engines are fussy. The wrong viscosity or a non-approved specification can trigger timing chain rattle, DPF problems on diesels and, in some cases, void a warranty claim. We look up the manufacturer specification for your exact engine and use oil that meets it.
If your car is under new car warranty, ask us about a full logbook service instead — often only marginally more than an oil change on its own, and the book gets stamped.
