No Fix, No Fee
A plain-English explanation of our guarantee — when you don't pay, and when the callout still applies.
We say “no fix, no fee” a lot, and we mean it — but we want you to know exactly how it works before you call, so there are no surprises. Here it is in plain English.
The short version
If we can’t help you at all, you don’t pay. If we diagnose the car and find the problem, the callout fee applies — whether the fix needs another service or specialist, or the repair belongs in the workshop (hoist, specialist tools, two people, or better economics). We’ve done the work of identifying the fault, so the fee stands, and we’ll point you to the right repairer if it’s not ours to do.
You don’t pay
If the job is genuinely outside what we do and we can’t help at all, we tell you honestly, waive the callout, and point you to the right people. No charge, ever.
The callout applies
If we diagnose and find the fault — whether it needs another service or specialist, or the repair belongs in the workshop — the $150 callout stands. We’ve identified the problem and we’ll recommend the right repairer if it’s not our work.
When you don’t pay anything
We won’t charge you a cent when we genuinely can’t help at all — the job is completely outside what we do. That covers:
- The repair is outside our skill set, qualifications or the equipment we carry, and we can’t help at all.
- We attend and genuinely can’t determine or address the problem — we’ll tell you plainly and send you to whoever can.
- You decide not to proceed after we’ve diagnosed and quoted, and no work has started.
In every one of these cases the callout is waived. We’d rather lose a job than charge you for something we couldn’t deliver.
When the callout fee still applies
The $150 callout — which covers the callout plus your first hour on site, including the diagnosis — applies whenever we diagnose the car and find the problem. We’ve done the work of identifying the fault, so the fee stands. That covers:
- We diagnose and find the fault, but the fix needs another service or specialist — we’ll recommend the right repairer and charge for the diagnosis.
- The repair needs workshop-only tooling or a hoist to be done safely and properly.
- It genuinely needs two people — for example, heavy transmission or engine removal.
- Doing it on the roadside or in your driveway would take far longer and cost you more than towing the car to our Burleigh Heads workshop.
- The car needs to be run on a dyno, an alignment rack, or other fixed equipment.
In short: if we’ve found the problem, the callout applies — whether we fix it, hand it to a specialist, or move it to the workshop. We’ll always give you a clear explanation of what’s wrong and a quote for the next step before anything moves.
What happens next
Call us on 0434 728 765, tell us the suburb, the car and what it’s doing. We’ll give you a likely cause, a time, and a price before a spanner moves. If we get there and genuinely can’t help at all, you pay nothing. If we diagnose and find the fault — whether it needs another service, a specialist, or the workshop — the $150 callout covers the diagnosis and your first hour, and we’ll quote or recommend the right repairer for the next step.
